Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ.
— Ephesians 4:15 (NIV)
Thoughts on Today’s Verse…
Truthful words are accurate. Words spoken in love can be a blessing. But truth spoken in love is redemptive: this kind of speech blesses those who hear it and matures those who speak it. While speaking the truth in love is often not easy, it’s worth it! Look at God and see how painful it was to speak his Word in love by sending Jesus. But in the process of that one sacrificial Word, he has saved us and revealed his heart of grace, mercy, and love.
My Prayer…
Holy God, may the words I speak be truthful and loving. Please forgive me when I have told the “painful truth” to win arguments, to hurt feelings, or to impress others. Please forgive me for the times I exaggerated, distorted, or lied. I want my words to be simple and tender, truthful and loving. I want others to see your grace in the way I speak to them. In the name of my Savior, Jesus, I pray. Amen.

How to Prevent Fine Lines & Wrinkles

If you started noticing fine lines and wrinkles, then it is most likely that you have dry skin. Your face looks dry, dull and flaky, which can be from lack of exfoliation, especially around the nose area known as the (T-Zone). Exfoliation is essential for dry skin, you should exfoliate your skin at least 1 time per week, be careful not to over exfoliate as this can cause dryness. Fine lines and wrinkles are a main factor of lack of hydration. Fine lines and wrinkles will also be noted in other areas like corner of your eyes, and around your lips. Lack of hydration and even smoking can cause the development of fine lines, which can make you look older than you are also known as (Pre-Mature Skin). Dry skin occurs when the protective barrier of oil in the lower level of your skin starts to break down and water evaporates from the skin into the air. Central heating and cold temperatures are one of the common causes, which is the main reason why most beauty companies are known to sell the most of moisturizers during the months of January. The problem with skin is that it will make you old before your time; not only is it prone to natural wrinkling but UV rays penetrate deeper and into the dehydrated skin, increasing sun damage, which will be noted as spots and discoloration in certain areas. The most important and I would have to say Vital things to do is to get moisture back into your skin and you would be surprised by how just a few simple things can help your skin benefit from moisture, and lack of elasticity.
A good water based moisturizer, with Sunscreen will help stop the process of aging. A great rule of thumb to remember is that applying moisturizer on a daily basis can be the product that makes a difference between dry skin and perfect skin. It is also recommended that you regularly to increase moisture are to apply a face mask that contains moisturizing properties like avocados, and honey. Another way to increase the hydration is to drink plenty of fluids, the normal amount of water intake is between 8-10 glasses of water daily, and the more you drink the better, especially if you are planning to be out in the sun. Another main factor to dry skin is the daily products used; make sure that the products you use do not contain any alcohol or soap, as this will actually cause skin dehydration. The best products to use are products that contain milk or have a creamy substance, if it feels refreshingly oily creamy, then you have a great product. The oily creamy products are a sign that will help feed your skin to keep it moisturized and reverse the signs of aging. It is best to cleanse your face with a cream cleanser that contains alpha or beta-hydroxy acids, as these help increase the cell replacement which slows on maturing skin, the use of alpha or beta-hydroxy cleansers also removes the need for a toner, which can cause more dryness. You can also use a soap that is glycerin based. Always keep in mind that to only cleanse your skin once a day preferably at the end of the day, to prevent dryness, and it is important to remember that re-application of moisturizers especially during the summer hot days can be a great factor to help your skin.

What can you do to protect your skin during summer?

For achieving healthy skin, protect and hydrate your skin by using sunscreen and drinking plenty of fluids. Sunscreen helps protect your skin from harmful UV rays which can damage your skin and can even cause Skin Cancer. It is important to keep in mind when going out in the sun not to spray perfume directly on your skin, this can cause sun spots, and can cause skin damage. Lots of people think that using a bar of soap is ok to cleanse your face, however this is not good. Your skin has a PH balance of 5.5 which is slightly acidic, and soaps are highly alkaline and have a PH range of 9- 10, which is why it is best to use a cleansing cream with a PH balance between 4-7 and use a toner after applying to neutralize the skins PH balance.
QUICK CARE TIPS
- Clean your skin with cleansing cream.
- Apply Toner
- Apply a moisturizer with sunscreen 20 minutes before you head out, to give your skin plenty of time to absorb it.
- Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated
- Remember to reapply sunscreen every 30 minutes, if you are participating in activities that cause you to over sweat.
